THE ART OF PLAYING IN A BAND

Since I was a kid, I knew that rock, pop, jazz, and blues were meant to be played in a band. At The Music Shed, we turn that belief into action—bringing musicians together to learn, rehearse, and perform as a real band.

Based in Redding, Connecticut, we serve students from Wilton, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport, and across Fairfield County. Our programs include:

  • Rock Band Program – join a group matched by age and skill, rehearse weekly, and perform live at the end of each semester.
  • Private Lessons – piano lessons (classical, jazz, and rock), guitar, bass, drums, and voice.
  • Songwriting & Recording – develop original music, learn the craft of songwriting, and record your own songs in our professional studio.
  • Summer Camps – rock band intensives and recording workshops.

Students don’t just learn songs—they gain confidence, stage presence, teamwork, and musicianship. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or preparing for advanced jazz piano studies, The Music Shed helps every student grow as a performer.

Summer Program

The Music Shed’s legendary summer camps pack serious growth and fun into just one week! Monday through Friday, kids join a small band of up to six musicians, pick 5–6 songs they love, and rehearse for three hours a day in a fun, creative environment. Each session ends with an in-studio performance for family and friends—an unforgettable celebration of everything they’ve learned.

We celebrate Hanukkah at the darkest time of the year and in the face of the darkest evil, because it’s what we have always done and we will continue. On and on and on.

Custom Songs

I have been writing and recording heart melting custom songs for every occasion (birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc…) possible for about 25 years for family, friends and clients. But it wasn’t until I partnered with Uncommon Goods in November 2020 that I was able to reach a much broader, worldwide audience. Since then, I have sold over 2500 songs to rave reviews. There is a 1 or 3 minute song in any style you could wish for.
